For centuries the French have sworn by the health benefits that are derived from red wine. According to researchers, they have found that the compound called resveratrol is responsible for these effects. Resveratrol is found in abundance in red wine which can improve mood and brain function. It also contains high levels of antioxidants which can help protect the brain and improve heart health. One glass daily for women and two for men is generally considered a healthy amount.
